Does it look familiar to you?

May 14th, 2010 Posted in Women's Clothing Tags: , ,

Does it look familiar to you? No, it’s not the last year’s Stella’s collection for Gap Kids for starters. Is this the same designer? No, it’s 2010 Stella McCartney for Adidas dresses *and* Torn By Ronny Kobo Crystal Zebra and Walking tiger.
Sometimes I think that clothes designers think like electronics and PCs makers. “Does it compile? Does it show splash screen? Ship it!”. If something works good, let’s change a few details here and there and ship it to mass market. If something works for one maker, will work for others too. There are some positives, tho. You can get a hot trend for any price tag suitable for your budget. But what if I want something different? Boo! Wait for the next year ;)

Update: More like this

Northface Girls fleece jacket

Oh my, I love this one and it’s so appropriate right now. I don’t know how good it’s in your place, but it’s only +13C here.

Sizes start from XXS (good for 4-5 years old) and go all through XL (good for 16-18 years old), so I can get this one for myself and for my little one. The only concern is the sleeve length for me, I’ll see how good it will be. Women’s fleece hoodie goes for almost the same price, but the colors are better in kid’s version. On the other hand, women’s version is made of so called ’silky fleece’. There is a classic boy’s version too.

Dasha Zhukova and Christina Tang founded their ‘anti-jean jeans’ company in 2006. It was all about style without a fixed description and pointing out what should be worn and done to become ’stylish’. Founders are influenced by their surrounding cities, Moscow and London for Dasha and Los Angeles and China for Christina. Can you see Moscow and Los Angeles in this one? ;)

Kova And T at ShopStyle

Buy smart, save on what you really want!

I have a few shopping rules. Here they are.

Rule #1
Don’t go shopping in a bad mood. You end up buying more than you planned as your thoughts will be preoccupied with the problem at hand.
Do go shopping to celebrate your accomplishments. You know better how to reward yourself.

Rule #2
Don’t set yourself daily spending limits. You’ll break them soon and your shopping trip turns into a guilt trip.
Do set yourself a reasonable monthly budget. You don’t want debts as you don’t want to feel “daily limits”

Rule #3
Don’t prepare yourself a fixed shopping list. It will take your precious time and remove the fun part from your shopping trip entirely.
Do know what you need to complete or extend a certain outfit, so you’ll have a starting point in your shopping.

Rule #4
Don’t buy stuff because it’s 70% off only because it’s 70% off. You have limited space in your closet, no matter the size of it.
Do have a reasonable expectations of the designer, style and your size. Clothing sizes S or M, 2, 4 or 6 will go fast, shoes sizes 7, 7.5, 8 and 8.5 will go even faster. If you want a new runway Diane Von Furstenberg dress, you’ll probably buy it for the full price or you miss it. If you want a new Juicy Couture top, you’d better wait till season sales.

Happy shopping!

ps. You can save big on this Vivienne Westwood Anglomania tunic dress. Accessories are built in already, just get your favorite flats (remember the mice ?) and you’re ready to go.

Don’t lose your chains

Don’t lose your chains, get a good use of ‘em!

This is my first look when all the pieces are key pieces. Platform Flower Wedge by Chloe, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, and the denim dress by Stella McCartney make my heart go faster. And don’t forget about the bow hat, Annick Goutal perfume and the glasses.

ps. I’m sure your mom will be happy to borrow your perfume, Annick Goutal is ageless.

Summer Best Bridesmaid Dress

What is summer time for you? Just sun? Outdoors? Bright hues? Often outfit changes (I loathe spending time on switching my purses. May be I’ll get backup keys and cosmetic bags for all of them.)? Vacation time? Yes, all of those are included plus it’s wedding season ;) Although I’m not getting married this summer, I’m starting looking for a nice bridesmaid outfit, just in case. And don’t forget about an uncommon gift. Steiff bear is a do.
